Formed in 2003 in the suburbs of Tokyo, Shuu and Nii had been friends since elementary school, the earliest incarnation of the band made its first performance while the members were still in high school.[3] Girugamesh began playing gigs with their current lineup in 2004, until they were signed to record label Gaina-Japan. Their first major single, Kaisen Sengen was ranked #10 on the Oricon Indies chart.[2]

In 2005, Girugamesh embarked on a nation-wide tour, after which they released their first live DVD, featuring footage from the tour, and after more touring, released an EP, Goku - Shohankei Enban.

LM.C (lovely-mocochang) is the current project of Aiji (ex-Pierrot). It consists of Aiji on guitar and Maya, who used to be known as Maayatan, 雅-miyavi-'s ex-support guitarist, on vocals.

Recently, they have produced a full length second album ALPHA which was released on November 28, 2007. The album contains a few tracks from previous albums and singles, such as Jewels, Number Six, White Prayer and Blue Planet. The album is ranked 9th on the Oricon Weekly for 2007 week 49.

The band has held a 2008 standing tour across Japan, 'A to U', starting from Zepp Sendai on January 10, 2008 and ending on February 9, 2008.

Recently Guitarist Tora has been in critical condition with spinal disc hernia. He was numb from his head to his left hand and his entire left arm had gone cold. The rest of the band has postponed three stops on the tour until further notice of Tora's health. The tour has been resumed with Tora's persistence wanting to go on with the tour. The other members of alice nine has quoted on their blogs that Tora has gained his strength, However, he has not fully recovered. No further information was released after that, though Tora seems to have recovered enough to continue releasing singles and going on tours.

The band released a new single, titled "Mirror Ball" on March 26, 2008. The title song of the single was used in the live-action movie adaptation of the manga Aquarian Age.

Two compilations of the band's music videos, "Alice in Pictures I" and "Alice in Pictures II", were released on July 2, 2008. The DVDs contain approximately 8 music videos in chronological order of their original release, with "Alice in Pictures I" including the videos from "Gin no Tsuki Kuroi Hoshi" to "Number Six". "Alice in Pictures II" contains videos from "Jewels" to "Eraser -Memoire d'une fleur-", and also includes a new music video for "Gekkouyoku", a song which was exclusively included with the "Dive into the Sun" photobook.

On August 6, the band released their latest single, "Rainbows." The single reached a peak mark of #3 on the Japanese Oricon daily charts which is currently the band's current top position on mainstream Japanese charts. The band also started their tour called "Discotheque play like 'A' Rainbows" which coincided with the new single. The tour lasted the entire month, and the concert footage is scheduled for release on their live DVD called Discotheque play like "A" Rainbows -enter&exit- on October 29, 2008.

A new single called "Cross Game" is planned for release on December 10, 2008. The aforementioned song is currently being used as the ending theme song for anime Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D'S, and is planned to be released in two versions. On December 19, 2008, the band's tour at the time would culminate in the grand final, named "Crossing the Supernova", at NHK Hall.

A blog entry by vocalist Shou announced that the band is already in recording session for a third album named Vandalize, which is set for release on January 14, 2009. "Cross Game" will be the third single to be featured on the album, along with "Mirror Ball" and "Rainbows" for a total of 11 tracks. The album's title comes from the theme of "the destruction of culture."

Their newest single, called HANA was released on August 5th. It includes 3 tracks and has 3 versions. An cafe (アンティック-珈琲店-), is a Japanese Oshare kei band formed in 2003 and signed to the independent label LOOP ASH. The band is composed of five members,which are all male.

Brief History
An Cafe was formed when Miku, Kanon and Bou found each other through an internet website while searching for people with similar interests. Teruki was not yet a part of the band, although they still released their first demo Oopu-ngu (Ope.ning) on June 17, 2003. Not long after, on July 2nd, they released a second demo called Uzumaki Senshokutai/Hatsukoi. During this time Teruki was in his former band 'Feathers Blue'. After Teruki joined the band, and until mid-April 2007, the line-up for the band had not changed, and consisted of Miku on vocals, Bou on guitar, Kanon on bass, and Teruki on drums.

Band Name
On official sources the band name has been written in many different ways. The most consistent has been "アンティック-珈琲店-" (antikku -kōhīten-), which appears on all releases and on the official website.

The COSMOS single (released in 2004) had the name written as "ANTIC CAFE" (with "アンティック-珈琲店-" written underneath). All releases since then have had the name written as "AN CAFE" (but still with "アンティック-珈琲店-" written underneath). Due to the amount of material released containing this version of the name it seems as though this is now the preferred choice of the band. Because of it being written アンティック (antikku), it has led many fans to believe that it is "Antique Cafe" and not "Antic Cafe". This is a common misconception, and as numerous interviews state, it is indeed Antic Cafe.

Initially, vocalist Miku believed that the band should be called Athletic Cafe, but a quick search through the dictionary to look up the word "Athletic" the word "Antic" was close to it and the word antic proved to be a much more appropriate name to him and the band.

Bou's Departure
On April 17, 2007, information was leaked that stated Bou would be leaving the band for personal reasons. Bou played his final performance with the band on the 30th of April in 2007. Rumors have started claiming that his parents are ill, and he is quitting to care for them also that he had issues with the company.These rumors in no way, have been confirmed yet.



In 2010, it has been confirmed that An Cafe will be taking a break from activities. It is yet unknown as to how long they will be on hiatus for, but they have not stated they will be disbanding. The message, issued on their official homepage, claims that "after the Budokan show, each member will concentrate on their own activity to be prepared for the band to restart in the future." The aformentioned Nippon Budokan show takes place on January 4th, 2010.

Ayabie (painted chilling, 彩冷える, アヤビエ), is a Japanese visual kei independent band currently signed under the label Speed Disk. Their music consists of a wide variety of sounds and moods, ranging from catchy and upbeat to heavy and hard-edged punk songs. Many of the band's costumes were designed by ID Japan, but their current costumes were designed by H. Naoto.

Biography

Ayabie was formed in the early spring of 2004 by ex-members of Hinawana Ryohei, Takehito and Intetsu with Aoi (ex-MASK, Cynical ex-Biscuit.) On May 8th, 2004, Ayabie held their first solo concert at the Takadanobaba AREA. Their first single, Heien No Ato, Ame, was distributed at this live. release Following this was their next single, Romancer, which was limited to 1,000 copies.

Many of the band's costumes were designed by ID Japan, but their current costumes were designed by H. Naoto.

Biography

Ayabie was formed in the early spring of 2004 by ex-members of Hinawana Ryohei, Takehito and Intetsu with Aoi (ex-MASK, Cynical ex-Biscuit.) On May 8th, 2004, Ayabie held their first solo concert at the Takadanobaba AREA. Their first single, Heien No Ato, Ame, was distributed at this live. release Following this was their next single, Romancer, which was limited to 1,000 copies.

Ayabie's debut album was released on March 21 , 2005 , entitled Ayabie Sokukan Ongenshuu . It includes a bonus DVD which contains their previously recorded PVs . The group, which started with only support drummers, finally had a permanent drummer when Kenzo joined later that year.
In June of 2006, Ayabie toured Europe for the first time. In August, Ryohei left the band permanently, due to his disagreement of the band's future. After his departure, he started his own new band, " Megamasso ". Yumehito became the newest member of Ayabie 3 months later. The band adjusted to the change by splitting song writing duties among the band members, with Yumehito writing many of the band's lyrics.
Now Yumehito composes most of the songs and Aoi writes all the lyrics.

In March 2002, Ruki, Uruha, and Reita , and Aoi and Yune formed a band under the name Gazette.[2] Originally signed to Matina, they released their first single, "Wakaremichi", and a video release in April. By September they had released two more singles and another video, headlining a show for the first time in October.


Ruki, Reita and Uruha were known for their previous work Kar + te = zyAnose. At this time Ruki was not as drummer and vocalist. The band pre-Gazette (Ma'die Kuss) [2000 ~ 2002], where a vocalist Ruki step, they decided to rename and integrate 2 new members to the exclusion of support. Yune before they officially leave the band members were already in search of finding a replacement drummer rookie. Unfortunately, as a REIT Shoxx interview with the "amateur" and decided to not take off a week of Gazette. Upon hearing this Kai (ex. Mareydi † I thought '). seized by phone and spoke to them, accepting them immediately.



In early 2003, Yune decided to leave the band, and he was replaced by Kai. Shortly after, they signed with the PS Company label, and in May released their first EP, Cockayne Soup. They started their first tour, with the band Hanamuke, and along with the tour, the bands collaborated on two songs. A second tour followed with the band Vidoll, and the bands were featured together on the November issue of Cure, a magazine focusing on Visual Kei bands.[3]

In early December they played a co-headlining show with Deadman. On December 28 they performed at Fool's Mate magazine's Beauti-fool's Fest which was later released on DVD.

On January 16, 2004 they recorded a solo performance at the Shibuya-AX, which was released on DVD as Tokyo saihan ~Judgement Day~.[2] On March 30, 2004 they released their Madara mini-album, which reached #2 on the Oricon Indie Charts. Madara was followed in May by a companion DVD, which included six music videos and an in-the-studio documentary. The same month, Gazette was featured in Shoxx magazine's Expect Rush III, a catalogue of independent Visual Kei artists.[4] A second live DVD, Heisei Banka, was released in August.[2] During September and October they toured with fellow PS Company bands Kra and BIS. Their debut album, Disorder, was released in October, and made it to the top 5 of the indies Oricon Daily Charts.

The band spent the remainder of 2004 and 2005 touring extensively, releasing Gama (another mini album) in August.

In 2005 the band released their first major label single, Cassis, in December.[5]

Starting 2006 with a name change—from Japanese characters to a romanized script—they released Nil, their second full-length album, on February 8, 2006,[2] and embarked on another Japanese tour, ending at the venue Nippon Budokan.[6] That July, The Gazette performed at the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Germany, their first show outside of Asia. The concerts were arranged in conjunction with the AnimagiC anime and manga convention.[7]

Three more singles were released followed by another studio album, Stacked Rubbish on July 4, 2007. It reached #2 on the Oricon charts within a day from the release. The album debut was followed by a promotional tour from July through September. In October, The Gazette started their first European tour stopping England, Finland, France, and Germany.

A single called "Guren" was released on February 13, 2008, which landed a #1 spot on the Oricon Charts, and it was announced that a new DVD would be released in August, and a new single Leech in Autumn 2008 [8], which also landed a #1 spot on the Oricon daily charts.[9]

The Gazette accomplished a one man tour through all of October called "From the Distorted City", referencing to the song "Distorted Daytime" in their single "Leech". It portrays Tokyo as a Distorted City, in terms of the society and political crisis sweeping over Japan in current days. "From the Distorted City" illustrates 'A Message from the Distorted City of Tokyo'.

On November 15, 2008, the GazettE hosted their first Secret Live in Shinjuku Station. Originally, around 250 people were to be anticipated, but instead, over 7000 came to the live, the most in history. Due to the amount of people on the streets, the police were forced to shut it down after two songs. [9][10] On 3rd January 2009, the GazettE performed along side their fellow bands signed to the PS company label to celebrate the record labels 10th anniversary where they announce that on March 25, 2009, they will release a new single called "Distress and Coma". In addition to their new single the band have announced that they will be releasing a new album "DIM" on July 15th.

It also should be specified that these boys compose and write absolutely all their songs (the words are written by Mao and the majority of the compositions are carried out by Aki).
SID's new upcoming album "hikari", coming out on July 1st, is going to be their first album as a major artist.
